MANILA – After punishing Calvin Abueva of the Phoenix Fuel Masters for flashing a “dirty finger” twice, the PBA Commissioner’s Office released another series of fines that hit Blackwater Elite import Henry Walker the hardest.

The former NBA player meted with a P21,600 fine for his antics that led to his ejection during the Elite’s 97-133 loss to Magnolia Hotshots in the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup last week.

Walker was slapped with P20,000 fine for throwing his mouth guard at a referee and an additional P1,600 for a technical foul, said PBA technical committee head and operations manager Erick Castro.

The former Miami Heat, New York Knicks and Boston Celtics guard admitted that he lost his cool with how the referees were officiating the match since the start of the season-ending conference.

“I said nothing for (the first seven) games. (Against the Hotshots) I just had enough. I had enough,” Walker said. “It’s the PBA. It’s supposed to be a physical basketball league.”

He added: “Don’t let one side, be physical, and I can’t be physical. ’Cause that’s what happens,” he added. “I’m setting picks, guys are grabbing my legs. But that’s cool. If I bump into somebody too hard, it’s like I’m the Hulk out here. All I’m asking for is let it go.”

San Miguel Beermen import Kevin Murphy, meanwhile, got a leaner penalty of P5,000 for a flagrant foul penalty 1 violation when he clearly clotheslined Fuel Masters’ forward Abueva during their match last Friday.

Still from the same incident, nine Fuel Masters players and coaching staff were slapped with a P5,000 fine each for entering the court.

Penalized were head coach Louie Alas, team manager Paolo Bugia, deputy Cesar Polhen, and players Doug Kramer, JC Intal, LA Revilla, Willie Wilson, Jaypee Mendoza, and Rey Guevarra./PN
