BACOLOD City – After posting more than P1 million sales of products from April 16 to May 2, the Negros Business Expo will have another run in malls in the city starting June of this year.
“Each producer sold more than 60 thousand pesos,” Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry chief executive officer Frank Carbon said.
“That’s not a small amount for micro businesses. It increased their working capital and will result in more sales and higher income,” he added.
According to him, there will be more expos in June, August, October, and December to keep businesses afloat, help the economy going so that jobs and livelihood are retained.
“We’re trying to improve the skills of small entrepreneurs on how to fish so they could not only fend for themselves but also help in the efforts of our provincial government in retaining and generating more jobs and livelihood,” he pointed out.
He lauded the efforts of both government and private organizations in providing free food through the community pantry.
He added that entrepreneurial activities should continue “while our government officials are looking for ways to contain the spread of the virus and eventually find a cure for coronavirus disease 2019.(PIA)
