More patients to benefit from Uswag Dialysis Center

ILOILO City – Another dialysis center here will soon be operational and serve more patients needing hemodialysis treatment.

The Uswag Dialysis Center in Barangay San Isidro, Jaro district was earlier inspected by Mayor Jerry P. Treñas.

The facility is equipped with 15 dialysis machines that can accommodate 30 patients a day. There are separate isolation rooms for COVID patients who will undergo a dialysis.

According to Treñas, through this facility that offer free services, the city government can help ease the patients’ burden, especially financially.

“Kon waay parehas sini nga gina-libre ta, magastohan ka gid,” he said.

According to Dr. Anabelle Tang, officer-in-charge of the City Health Office, the dialysis center will operate soon once they are granted a license to operate by the Department of Health.

The city government has an existing dialysis center in Barangay East Baluarte, Molo district which can accommodate 12 patients a day.

It is also eyeing to provide more dialysis machines once the planned Mega Health Center in Arevalo district is realized.

Health is one of the priority agenda of the Treñas administration under its WHEELS (Welfare, Health, Education, Environment, Livelihood, Sustainability) program for inclusive development./PN
