MORE Power lights up Iloilo with the iconic Twin Christmas Trees

THE festive spirit is alive in Iloilo as MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power) officially lit up its iconic Twin Christmas Trees on Wednesday night, December 4, 2024, in a ceremony that brought together Ilonggos in celebration of warmth, unity, and sustainability this holiday season.

The Unity Christmas Tree at Plaza Libertad and the Harmony Christmas Tree at Jaro Plaza, crafted from recycled materials, stand as shining symbols of MORE Power’s dedication to environmental responsibility and community togetherness. A unique addition this year is the integration of a bucket truck, signifying the company’s unwavering commitment to powering progress and uplifting lives.

During the lighting ceremony, Iloilo City’s Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon and Councilor Candice Tupas; Mr. Roel Castro, President & CEO of MORE Power; Mr. Niel Parcon, VP of Energy Sourcing and Regulatory; and Ms. Ma. Cristina Cabalhin, VP of Customer Care and Marketing, led the first contributions to the Donation Box beneath the Twin Christmas Trees. This initiative invites Ilonggos to “Spread the Love and Give MORE” by donating to support those in need, embracing the true spirit of Christmas.

Vice Mayor Ganzon commended the initiative, saying, “The switch on ceremony for this magnificent Christmas trees mark a symbolic moment, it represents MORE Power’s renewed commitment to the Iloilo City Government, in ensuring that the holiday for the Ilonggos is made extra special and memorable.”

Castro, for his part, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the community.

“We are deeply grateful for the chance to give back to our fellow Ilonggos this holiday season. The giant donation box beneath our Unity Christmas Tree symbolizes a simple yet powerful way to spread joy, hope, and generosity. We warmly invite everyone to join us in making this Christmas brighter by sharing kindness and supporting our fellow Ilonggos,” he said.

“I hope that this symbol, this Christmas tree, makes us truly feel that it’s Christmas. Let’s not forget the real essence of Christmas, which is sharing and giving, especially to our less fortunate brothers and sisters. Now, it’s Christmas, and truly the time for giving and sharing. Let’s not forget the real essence of Christmas,” Castro highlighted.
