HAMTIC, Antique – Mayor Julius Pacificador ordered more stringent public health safety restrictions as cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rise in the municipality.
“All public and private offices and establishments are highly encouraged to adopt alternative work arrangements so as to observe physical distancing,” according to the mayor in Executive Order No. 14 issued on April 12.
All non-essential gatherings have been prohibited effective 12 a.m. of April 13 until this restriction is lifted or modified.
Wakes and funeral services are limited to the immediate family or not more than 10 persons at a time.
All public utility vehicles are allowed to operate but at 50 percent only of their passenger capacity.
The wearing of facemask and face shields is mandatory for passengers as well as drivers and helpers.
Business establishments not limited to restaurants, resorts and beaches are allowed to operate but only at 50 percent of their capacity so as to ensure proper physical distancing.
Collectors of micro-financing and those persons whether natural or juridical who offer loans and with permits/licenses are allowed to operate except in areas/barangays with recorded cases of COVID-19.
The operation of cockpits and conduct of cockfighting activities remain suspended.
Ambulant vendors are not allowed to sell at the new Hamtic public market.
As of April 12, Hamtic’s active COVID-19 cases rose to 38.
“The increasing number of COVID-19 cases, the speed of transmission, number of hospitalization and death are all reasons to impose more stringent public health and safety restrictions,” said Pacificador./PN
