ILOILO City – Fire hit a barracks of construction workers at Megaworld Complex in Barangay Airport, Mandurriao district yesterday morning.
No one died or got hurt but the estimated damage reached P100 thousand, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
The fire started past 8 a.m.
BFP declared a “fire out” at 9:36 a.m.
The barracks – owned by BSP Company Inc. and contractor RNCC – was made of mixed materials.
According to Chief Inspector Christopher Regencia, city fire marshal, the nearby property of Iloilo Printing and Services was partially damaged.
Investigators suspected the fire could be “electrical in nature.”/PN
