BACOLOD City – Two police officers riding a motorcycle figured in a vehicular crash in Barangay 13, Victorias City, Negros Occidental.
They were identified as Police Officers 1 Jay Espanola, 26, of Pontevedra, Negros Occidental and Radney Vergara, 26, of Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
Espanola and Vergara – who were on board a Kawasaki Rouser 150 – hit the left rear portion of a Ceres bus around 9:35 a.m. on Monday, the report added.
According to the police, the motorcycle bumped into the bus after the latter stopped due to “zero visibility” in the area due to smoke from a burning sugarcane field.
The cops sustained body injuries and were brought to the Ikaayong Lawas Foundation Hospital in Victorias City for medical treatment.
They were later transferred to the Riverside Medical Center in Bacolod City for further treatment./PN
