BACOLOD City – A motorcycle-riding delivery man crashed against a bus around 3:50 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, on the national highway in Barangay To-oy, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

The 41-year-old Hernan Panaligan, a resident of the city’s Barangay III-Poblacion, succumbed to head and leg injuries at the Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Grande, chief of the Himamaylan City Police Station, said the motorcycle and the bus driven by Julian Jenon, 48, from Barangay Talacdan, Cauayan town, were running in opposite direction.

Grande said Panaligad may have lost control of his speeding motorcycle and allegedly overlapped the opposite lane, colliding with the bus.

The bus sustained damages on its windshield and front bumper.

Jenon was taken into custody by the Himamaylan City Police Station for proper disposition./PN
