BACOLOD City – A 51-year-old man died while his 18-year-old son was injured when the motorcycle they were riding hit a steel road warning sign in Barangay Cubay, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.

Romeo Labrador, a member of a “civilian volunteer organization” in Cubay, was driving the motorcycle on Monday, police said.

He and son John were taken to the Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial Hospital in La Carlota City, but the father was declared “dead on arrival.” The son sustained minor injuries.

The motorcycle swerved toward the roadside and crashed into the road sign. The impact threw the victims off the vehicle, police said./PN
