BACOLOD City – A motorcycle-driving native of Isabela, Negros Occidental rushing home on Maundy Thursday afternoon died. He crashed against a cargo truck running in the opposite direction in Barangay Palaka, Valladolid town.
The casualty was 28-year-old Christopher Yungco. He overtook a vehicle but failed to quickly return to his lane and thus crashed against an oncoming cargo truck, according to Senior Inspector Junjie Liba, Valladolid police chief.
The vehicular accident happened around 1 p.m.
Yungco’s motorcycle caught fire, too, after the collision.
The cargo truck driver, Bernardo Octavio, 47, surrendered to the Valladolid police.
A resident of Barangay Ma-ao, Bago City, Octavio faces a charge of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide./PN
