BACOLOD City – In Barangay Bato, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, a motorcycle crashed against a parked cargo truck.

Its driver, 25-year-old Ariel Villarin of Barangay Bato, Sagay City, died, a police report showed.

Villarin, who sustained head and body injuries, was taken to the nearby Alfredo E. Marañon Sr. Memorial District Hospital where he was pronounced “dead on arrival.”

The Suzuki Raider 150 he was driving, owned by Melody C. Angel of Barangay Bato, had no plate number.

Police investigation showed he was on his way to Barangay Makiling at around 7:09 p.m. on Jan. 17 when he crashed into the rear of the parked truck owned by Candido Onio Ebolena, also of Barangay Bato.

The truck driver, Antonio Ebolena, 51, of Barangay Bato, turned himself in to the police./PN
