ILOILO City – A motorcycle driver was apprehended for a string of traffic violations on Jalandoni Street, Barangay Villa Anita, City Proper.
According to Traffic Auxiliary Judy Bacalangco Navales, Anthony Saldivar committed the following infractions:
* not wearing a helmet
* motorcycle did not have Official Receipt / Certificate of Registration (OR/CR), and
* no driver’s license.
Navales caught Saldivar driving a red Honda TMX 155 with plate number 6750 around 6:15 p.m. on Nov. 16.
Not wearing a helmet was a violation of City Ordinance 2008-394 while not having an OR/CR was a violation of City Ordinance 2008-393, Section 1-C, explained Navales.
Saldivar voluntarily surrendered his plate number and promised and pay the corresponding fines to the city government, according to Navales.
Not wearing a helmet and other safety gears when driving a motorcycle is also a violation of the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009./PN
