Motorcycle-riding men killed in Sagay crash

BACOLOD City – The motorcycle they were riding crashed against a service vehicle of an electric cooperative in Barangay Rizal, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.

The 32-year-old resident Jomar Cornea, the motorcycle driver, and his back rider Alimon Dimavivas of Barangay Fabrica, Sagay City were both killed, a police report showed.

It was around 8:35 p.m. on Sunday when they bumped into the service vehicle owned by the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (Noneco)-Sagay City branch.

Cornea and Dimavivas were on their way to Sagay City proper while the Noneco vehicle driven by the 35-year-old Leonardo Lachica Jr. was bound for Barangay Bato, Sagay City, police said.

Cornea and Dimavivas sustained injuries.

Cornea died on the spot, according to the police, while Dimavivas was rushed to the Riverside Medical Center in Bacolod City where he was pronounced β€œdead on arrival.”

Lachica, on the other hand, was detained at the Sagay City police station custodial facility./PN
