BACOLOD City – Two persons died including a pregnant woman while seven others were injured after a motorcycle collided into a passenger tricycle in Barangay Luna, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
Killed were 32-year-old Sheriel Sumogat, who was eight-month pregnant and 22-year old motorcycle driver Eric Onyot. They both sustained fatal injuries after the crash, a police report showed.
Meanwhile, tricycle passengers Nanie Decain; Daisy Decain; Sydney Decain; Jennelyn Anota; Abbygale Anota; Jacky Estersito and driver Poljun Ofianga were brought to the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic for medical treatment.
According to police investigators, the incident happened around 4:44 p.m. on Dec. 28
The tricycle was negotiating the national road in Stop Oso Highway at Barangay Luna when the counter-flowing motorcycle crashed against it, the investigators added.
Due to the collision, the tricycle passengers reportedly fell down after they were thrown up from the sidecar.
The victims were all residents of Cadiz City./PN
