MANILA – Mark Ray Dubouzet converted timely baskets in the endgame as Bacolod Tubo Slashers escaped with a 70-69 victory over Marikina Shoemasters in the 2025 MPBL Season on Monday night at the Paco Arena in Manila.

With the score tied at 66-all, the 5-foot-9 Dubouzet broke the deadlock with a three-pointer before he split his free throws to give the Tubo Slashers a 70-66 advantage with 18 seconds left.

The Shoemasters made their last push as they trimmed the deficit to 69-70 on a triple by Joshua Roque. Bacolod failed to widen the lead after Jaycee Adjel missed his two free throws, but Marikina’s Michael Macion missed on a potential game-winner.

Dubouzet finished with 21 points, seven rebounds, three assist and two steals to earn the Player of the Game honors as the Tubo Slashers notched their first win in three matches. They also ended a 24-game losing skid dating back from last season.
