MANILA – Bacolod Master Sardines has released veteran guard Mark Jayven Tallo with still a few games remaining in their schedule in the 2019-2020 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Lakan Cup.
The Cebuano Tallo, who was one of the leading scorers of the team, was reportedly waived by the Bacolod-based squad due to his “misunderstandings” with head coach Vic Ycasiano.
Tallo refused to go into the details of his sudden expulsion from the squad, which happened a few days after their 85-80 defeat to Cebu Sharks in at the University of St. La Salle Coliseum in Bacolod City.
The former De La Salle University Green Archers guard, said he has been receiving offers from other MPBL teams but has yet to make up his mind on where to play next.
Prior to his MPBL stint, Tallo suited up in the Philippine Basketball Association where he played for the TNT KaTropa and NLEX Road Warriors.
Bacolod Master Sardines is currently on a three-game losing skid and has a 6-11 win-loss record in the South Division./PN
