MANILA – San Juan-Go for Gold Knights reached the finals of the 2020 Chooks-to-Go/MPBL Lakan North Division via a 91-83 win over Pampanga Giant Lanterns in Game 2 of the semifinals at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila.

John Wilson flaunted his all-around brilliance with 26 points, six rebounds, five assists, and five steals while Jhonard Clarito chipped in 14 points, four rebounds on top of four steals.

Carlos Isit played his best game of the season, pouring in 13 points, four assists, and four rebounds.

Mike Ayonayon had 13 markers as well.

Holding to a slim five-point edge midway in the fourth quarter, Isit pumped in a three-pointer to spark an 11-3 blast, paving the way for the Knights to establish an 86-73 advantage.

Dexter Maiquez was able to pull the Giant Lanterns within eight points. However, Wilson answered with two freebies to end Pampanga’s hopes and carry San Juan to the next round.

For the Giant Lanterns, Maiquez finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds and two assists while Levi Hernandez chipped in 17 points on a 7-of-20 clip.

Mark Cruz was held to just six points in the contest along with eight assists.

Meanwhile, Makati Super Crunch stayed alive in their own semifinals series following a 75-59 victory over Manila-Frontrow Stars. The do-or-die Game 3 of the series is slated tonight./PN
