CAPIZ – Police are investigating a spate of recent homicides in this province.
The first incident involved Shella Mae Dulla, a 27-year-old from Barangay Tabuc Norte, Panitan town.
Dulla was fatally attacked on Nov. 3 while riding her motorcycle in Barangay Adlawan, Roxas City.
Ten days later, the violence continued with the murder of Sandra Baluco, a 44-year-old, who was the live-in partner of a barangay captain in President Roxas town.
Baluco was shot three times in the head while on her motorcycle.
On the same day, a mentally ill man was also killed in Barangay Najus-an, Mambusao town.
The most recent victim, 40-year-old Jeff “Tico” Ardeña, a repairman from Barangay Punta Tabuc, Roxas City, was killed on Nov. 14.
The perpetrators of these incidents remain unidentified.
In response to these events, the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) led by Police Major Myla Dela Cruz has increased police visibility and established checkpoints throughout the province, aligning with the ongoing Commission on Elections gun ban.
Dela Cruz encouraged residents to assist in the investigation by sharing any relevant information, emphasizing the importance of public cooperation in resolving these cases and seeking justice for the victims./PN
