Murcia cops seize P6.8M ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – A 29-year-old man was caught carrying around one kilo of suspected shabu approximately valued at P6.8 million in Purok Bomba, Barangay Salvacion, Murcia, Negros Occidental.

Carl John Arroyo, a resident of Barangay Villamonte in this city, was detained at the Murcia Municipal Police Station (MPS). He is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

According to the Murcia MPS, patrolling police officers responded to a vehicular accident involving Arroyo’s motorcycle and a car around 6:05 p.m. on Saturday, September 7.

The cops then discovered from Arroyo’s possession two plastic packs each containing 500 grams of suspected shabu.

Also seized were his motorcycle without a plate number and a black-and-brown sling bag./PN
