Murcia hacking suspects at large

BACOLOD City – Police have yet to identify the suspects in hacking a man to death in Barangay Blumentritt, Murcia, Negros Occidental.

Chief Inspector Robert Indiape, municipal police head, identified the man as the 55-year-old Uldarico Garfil Jr. of Barangay Minoyan, Murcia.

Garfil, a former paramilitary, sustained hack wounds on the different parts of the body and was left near the boundary of Bacolod City and Murcia.

His body was found past 9 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the police.

Investigators said two persons had waylaid Garfil near a construction site he is working on Monday evening but the latter was able to escape.

The suspects came back the following day and killed Garfil, the investigators added. The suspects then fled.

Police have yet to determine the motive in the hacking./PN
