BACOLOD City – The municipal government of Murcia, Negros Occidental is gearing up for the province’s vaccination simulation exercise against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) this March 12.

Mayor Gerry Rojas said the activity will be held at the Cansilayan National High School in Barangay Cansilayan.

He also thanked the provincial government for choosing his town for the province’s mass COVID-19 vaccination in the second half of the year.

Murcia – a first class municipality – was chosen to host the vaccination simulation exercise as it was “strategically located in the center of the province” thus accessible to all participating local government units.

The provincial government has ordered 100,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines, primarily intended for capitol-run district hospitals.

Last month, the provincial government paid more than P4 million as 20 percent advance payment for the vaccines./PN
