Murcia resident shot dead over garbage

BACOLOD City – A resident of Barangay Lopez Jaena in Murcia, Negros Occidental was shot to death following an argument over a garbage.

According to the Murcia Municipal Police Station (MPS), alias “Edgar”, 24, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds on his body.

Police identified the suspect as alias “Arman”, 47, also a resident of the said place.

Investigation revealed that at around 5:55 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, the victim was driving his tricycle when he was waylaid by the suspect and confronted about the garbage stocked at the center of the road.

A heated argument ensued between them that resulted into a fistfight. Police said the suspect allegedly drew his caliber .45 pistol and shot the victim several times.

The suspect then fled carrying along with him the firearm but he was later arrested by the responding police officers at a nearby school building.

Recovered from him were a caliber .45 pistol and a magazine with seven rounds ammunition.

Murcia police said the suspect had an old grudge against the victim.

The suspect was detained at the Murcia MPS for proper disposition./PN
