ILOILO City – The Mandurriao Police Station filed a murder complaint against the suspect in the killing of a masseuse before the City Prosecutor’s Office yesterday.

The 21-year-old Rommel John “Dikit” Celestre, a resident of Zone 1A, Barangay, Balabago, Jaro district, surrendered to the authorities on April 5. He was detained at the Mandurriao Police Station.

Mandurriao police officer-in-charge, Police Lieutenant Colonel Albert Sy, said Celestre confessed.

“Ginhambal sang suspect kung ano ang natabu sa ila and sa subong atong gintuad niya sa aton magiging subject pa ina sa iya depensa sa court kung sa hearing na,” said Sy.

He said the main reason for the crime was misunderstanding regarding the service fee of the victim.

Sy said they are still waiting for the results of the laboratory tests the suspect underwent, including drug test.

“Tanan nga laboratory requests naton wala pa sang resulta, upod na dira ang request naton sang CCTV footage enhancement, drug test sang suspect, kag atong sa other laboratory and forensic examination wala pa gid kita sang may nauyatan,” he said.

The police chief was referring to the closed circuit television (CCTV) camera footage taken from the store where the suspect was seen drinking before the crime.

On April 1, Christine Gabayeron, 38, was found dead inside Room 111 of Queen’s Court Drive-in Hotel in Mandurriao. She sustained cuts on her face, neck and chest, police said.

The victim, however, died due to head injuries from being hit several times with a bottle, based on the result of the autopsy performed by Dr. Owen Lebaquin, retired medico-legal officer of the Police Regional Office 6./PN
