ILOILO – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) filed three counts of murder charges against the supposed lone survivor in the shooting of three young businessmen in Estancia town in September.
IPPO director, Police Colonel Noel Aliño, said Jevron Parohinog of Estancia was charged yesterday through an inquest fiscal.
The charges were filed at the Iloilo Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
“Finally, na-file na natin ang kaso para mabigyan ng justice ang mga pamilya (of the victims),” Aliño said.
The three businessmen were Jan Paul Mark Bosque of Sara town, Chrysler Floyd Fernandes of Barotac Nuevo town and Mark Libao of Iloilo City, all friends of Parohinog. They were shot to death in Barangay Villa Pani-an, Estancia on Sept. 14.
The IPPO has two witnesses – a councilman of Barangay Villa Panian and a school security guard.
Parohinog had told the police that he and the three fatalities were onboard a white Isuzu MUX when attacked by motorcycle-riding gunmen around 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 14. Bosque owned the vehicle, but Parohinog was driving it.
However, the two IPPO witnesses claimed they have not seen a motorcycle or any vehicle coming out from the crime scene or any person aside from Parohinog.
One of the witnesses also claimed seeing the suspect strangling Fernandes.
Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) director, Police Brigadier General Leo Francisco, welcomed the fling of the murder complaint.
Fernandes could not be reached for comment as of this writing.PN
