IBAJAY, Aklan – A wanted person in the province of Antique was arrested yesterday at around 4:45 a.m. in the mountainous area of Barangay Yawan here.
Dionito Tayco alias “Aloy” was a 65-year-old jobless resident of Sitio Hawid-hawid, Barangay Mina-a, Ibajay. He went into hiding after he was charged with murder back in 1997.
Tayco was arrested by combined elements of the Police Regional Office 6’s Regional Intelligence Division 6, 2nd Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company, Antique Police Provincial Office, Provincial Intelligence Unit, 2nd Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, and Sebaste municipal police station.
The arrest warrant (Criminal Case No. C-203) was issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Antonio Natino of Branch 13 (Culasi, Antique) on Jan. 6, 1997.
No bail bond was recommended for the suspect’s temporary liberty.
Tayco was tagged in the fatal stabbing of a cousin on May 29, 1995 at around 1 a.m. in Barangay Nauhon, Sebaste, Antique./PN
