MV Star Legend anchors in Boracay Island

Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 6 welcomed some 208 passengers of cruise ship MV Star Legend at Cagban Port in the island of Boracay on Feb. 27. DOT-6

ILOILO City – With an estimated 208 passengers on board, MV Star Legend arrived at Cagban Port in the island of Boracay on Feb. 27.

Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 6 provided welcome leis and entertainment during the arrival of the said cruise ship.

The guests were given seven hours to explore the island and its nearby tourist destinations. They visited the famous white beach, D’ Mall and Puka Beach. Aside from touring the island, the passengers also visited the Motag Living Museum located at Malay.

“The arrival of MV Star Legend gives us another opportunity to showcase the island after its six (6) months rehabilitation. More cruise ships are set to visit Boracay but we will still adhere to the carrying capacity of the island. DOT as chair of the Boracay Cruise Ship Assessment Team will enforce a policy banning cruise ship during peak seasons like Christmas, Chinese New Year, Lenten Season, Holy week, summer, All Saints Day and All Souls Day.” director Atty.
