ILOILO – Two bonnet-wearing men were allegedly stalking Barangay Cano-an, Estancia town.
Barangay officials and tanods conducted nightly foot patrol last week in the hope of apprehending the men.
Residents were upset, according to Barangay Captain Buday Carbonilla of Cano-an.
The barangay captains of 24 other villages of Estancia joined the nightly foot patrols, Carbonilla added.
Friday night last week, the two men were spotted again, according to the village chief.
They were big men and also wore black shirts, said Carbonilla, citing the statements of residents who claimed to have seen the two men.
“If they did not have bad intentions, they should not have ran toward the river and hid under the cover of darkness when villagers spotted them,” said Carbonilla.
From what the barangay officials of Cano-an gathered from residents who claimed to have seen the men, the two moved fast.
“Tuman ka dasig. Indi kami ka intindi kon ano ini sila. Daw sa isang iglap gakadula sila,” said Carbonilla.
Even the policemen were puzzled, according to the barangay captain./PN
