ILOILO City – “Subong ang Napolcom (National Police Commission) mamati sa kapulisan; malibot kami kag mamati sa inyo. We want to lead by example because we want you to listen to your people.”

This is the direction Atty. Jerome Asuga, the 10th regional director of Napolcom-6, has set within the agency that is responsible for the administration and control of the Philippine National Police.

The newly appointed head of Napolcom-6, who served as a guest of honor and speaker during the Iloilo City Police Office’s (ICPO) awarding ceremony, was given foyer honors by ICPO director Colonel Joeresty Coronica yesterday morning at Camp Achilles D. Plagata here.

Tapos na ang panahon nga ang servant nagahimu sang programa sa iya master, sala ina. Wala sang maid nga nagatudlo sa ila boss kon anou ang obrahon,” said Asuga.

In the ceremony, he underscored his directives: measure how much the police listened, internalize that police are a gift to our people, maintain a high standard of morality, have activities coupled with results, and that these results could improve lives.

“Being a police officer or a law enforcer is not just a job; it is your destiny in life. This is your existence, leaving a mark on the world. Ensure that every time you wear that uniform, you make the best mark or impact on the world and live the best life as a public servant,” he added.

During the ceremony, medals were awarded to deserving police personnel who contributed to the success of ICPO.

The event was attended by Pastor Elyserio Dieta; Lieutenant Colonel Lindley T. Barrientos, ICPO Deputy City Director for Administration; Lieutenant Colonel Lorenez G. Losaria, ICPO Deputy City Director for Operation; members of the command staff; unit commanders; station commanders; police non-commissioned officers; and non-uniformed personnel./PN
