Nasyo Defenders rules Gov’s Cup

ILOILO City – Iloilo National High School Nasyo Defenders captured the boys and girls volleyball crowns in the 2019 Iloilo Governor’s Cup inter-varsity competition.

The Nasyo Defenders clinched the girls volleyball tiara via a straight set victory over the Oton National High School Flaming Blades.

Prior to the championship round, Nasyo Defenders was set to face Pavia National High School Green Builders in the semifinals round but the latter was disqualified for technicalities.

Meanwhile, Nasyo Defenders also clinched the boys volleyball crown by defeating Integrated Academy School System, Inc. Integros in a thrilling five setter.

Nasyo Defenders trailed 2-1 after three sets before mounting a huge run in the fourth quarter to force a fifth set.

In the decider, it was all Nasyo pounding the Integros to complete the turnaround.

The two Nasyo Defenders team received P10,000 each, while first and second runners up got P7,000 and P5,000, respectively./PN
