BACOLOD City – The City of Smiles will serve as host for the 2nd Mayor Albee Benitez Rhythmic Gymnastics National Invitational slated from October 14 to 15 at the Bacolod City College Activity Center here.
Around 200 gymnasts from 24 gymnastics clubs across the country have already signified their intention to participate in the much-anticipated two-day rhythmic gymnastics event.
“The national invitational is a testament to the city’s commitment to promoting sports and fostering young talent,” the tournament wrote in a statement sent to Panay News on Friday.
“With clubs from all over the Philippines participating, the event will feature gymnasts performing intricate routines using apparatuses like hoops, balls, ribbons, and clubs,” it added.
The event, which was named after Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez, is also part of the MassKaralympics activities for the City’s MassKara Festival Sapphire celebration, which will take place from October 11 to 27, 2024.
“Spectators can expect high-level performances from some of the country’s top rhythmic gymnasts, as well as rising stars who are eager to make their mark in the sport,” the tournament further said.
