
STEPHEN Curry caught fire in the second half as the Golden State Warriors scored a 121-115 victory over the Orlando Magic in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season on Thursday night (Friday in the Philippines) at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida.
Down 52-66 at the half, Curry unloaded 22 points in the third quarter as they took a 92-87 lead before widening it to its largest at 104-91 in the fourth quarter on back-to-back baskets by rookie Quinten Post.
The Magic responded with a huge run to cut the deficit to 109-111 with 1:55 remaining in the game, but Curry knocked down a three-pointer followed by free throws from Jimmy Butler to seal the Warriors’ win.
Curry finished the game with 56 points, including 12 three-point conversions, as the Warriors notched their seventh win in the last eight matches for a 32-27 win-loss slate.
Post added 18 points, five rebounds, and one assist, Draymond Green posted a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Moses Moody ended with 10 markers for the Warriors.
Paolo Banchero paced the Magic with 41 points, six rebounds, and five assists, while Franz Wagner and Cole Anthony had 27 and 11 points, respectively, as they dropped to a 29-32 record.
Meanwhile, Dallas Mavericks (32-28) turned things around in the second half to defeat Charlotte Hornets (14-44), 103-96, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
Kyrie Irving spearheaded the offense with 25 points, including two three-point conversions, to go with nine rebounds, five assists, two steals, and two blocks for the Mavericks.
Moses Brown posted a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Klay Thompson and Dante Exum contributed 18 and 12 markers, respectively, for the Mavericks.
Mark Williams posted a double-double of 26 points and 16 rebounds, Myles Bridges added 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Nick Smith Jr. and KJ Simpson had 12 and 11, respectively, for the Hornets./PN
