NBA: Haliburton’s 4-pt play propels Indiana past Milwaukee

TYRESE Haliburton completed a four-point play late in the game as Indiana Pacers escaped with a 115-114 victory over Milwaukee Bucks in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season on Tuesday night (Wednesday in the Philippines) at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Down 111-114, Haliburton ran along the left sideline, took an inbounds pass from teammate Andrew Nembhard and made a fadeaway three-pointer while being fouled by Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo with 3.4 seconds left.

After Haliburton made the free throw to complete a four-point play and give the Pacers a 115-114 lead, Antetokounmpo raced up the court and got off a clean 3-point try, but the shot fell short at the buzzer.

Haliburton, who missed the last three games with a hip injury, finished with a double-double of 14 points and 10 assists as the Pacers improved to a 36-28 record in the standings.

Pascal Siakam led Indiana with 25 points and 12 rebounds, Bennedict Mathurin and Myles Turner added 17 and 13 points, respectively, while Nembhard and TJ McConnell added 12 points each.

Brook Lopez scored a team-high 23 points for the Bucks, while Antetokounmpo had a double-double of 19 points and 17 rebounds as they dropped to a similar 36-28 record.

Meanwhile, Cade Cunningham fell short of a triple-double with 27 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds as Detroit Pistons cruised to a dominant 123-103 victory over the Washington Wizards.

Jalen Duren contributed a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds, Malik Beasley added 14 points, and Tobias Harris finishes with 12 points and eight rebounds as they improved to a 37-29 record.

Dennis Schroder and Tim Hardaway Jr. chipped in 11 points apiece for Detroit, which has won 12 of its last 15 games.

Marcus Smart, meanwhile, led the Wizards (13-51) with 16 points, Jordan Poole and Bub Carrington had 15 points each, while Richaun Holmes added 14 points and eight rebounds before he was ejected in the fourth quarter for a Flagrant 2 foul./PN
