DENVER Nuggets battled back from 18 points down to defeat Los Angeles Clippers, 111-93, in Game 6 of their Western Conference semifinals on Sunday night (Monday in Manila).
Nikola Jokić flirted with near triple-double 34 points, 17 rebounds and seven assists while Jamal Murray added 21 markers as the Nuggets tied the series at 3-3.
It was the second straight series that the Nuggets fought back after being down 1-3, and it will be a historic feat if they complete the turnaround in the do-or-die match on Tuesday night (Wednesday in the Philippines).
Trailing 55-73 after a basket by Clippers’ Paul George, the Nuggets countered with a huge run from Murray, Monte Morris and Torrey Craig to seize an 85-81 advantage.
The Clippers are still hanging around at 89-91 midway in the fourth period, but consecutive triples by Jokić and Gary Harris gave the Nuggets its largest lead at 111-95.
