
TORONTO Raptors slammed Brooklyn Nets, 134-110, during their 2019-2020 NBA playoffs first round opener (Eastern Conference) on Monday night (Tuesday in the Philippines).
Fred VanVleet’s playoff career-high 30 points along with 11 assists gave the defending NBA champions Toronto a 1-0 series lead against Brooklyn.
Serge Ibaka came off the bench to finish with 22 markers, Pascal Siakam scored 18 points and 11 assists while Kyle Lowry chipped in 16 points, seven assists and six rebounds for the Raptors.
Toronto immediately dropped fire on Brooklyn during the opening quarter to establish a 37-20 advantage.
The Nets fought fire with fire in the second half, but Van Vleet’s form was too much for them.
Denver Nuggets, meanwhile, is now up 1-0 in their Western Conference playoffs showdown against Utah Jazz after beating the latter 135-125.
Jamal Murray lifted Denver with 36 points and nine assists while Nikola Jokic added 29 markers and 10 rebounds.
Donovan Mitchell, on the other hand, scored a career-high 57 points for Utah.
