NBI establishes ‘enough’ motive in Estancia killings

BY RHENJIE MARIE CALANTAS

ILOILO – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Region 6 has established a motive in the killing of three young businessmen in Barangay Villa Pani-an, Estancia town.

According to NBI-6 assistant regional director Atty. Jeremiah Sargado, they also have evidence to support it.

“Siguro enough naman ini agud magkumiter sang krimen ang suspek,”  Sargado added.

The NBI, however, is not yet sure when a complaint would be filed.

On the other hand, the family of victim John Paul Mark Bosque turned over to the NBI-6 the clothes that he used before the killing.

Sargado said they will have the clothes examined for, among others, gunpowder residue.

Meanwhile, the luminol tests conducted by the Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) Palibosfer on Sept. 28 at the house of Jevron Parohinog and at the ice plant yielded negative results.

Moreover, there will be a scheduled case conference with the medico-legal, SITG Palibosfer and NBI-6 to consolidate the evidences.

Parohinog, the lone survivor, told the police he and the three fatalities — Mark Clarenz Libao, Chrysler Floyd Fernandes and Bosque — were onboard a white Isuzu MUX when attacked by motorcycle-riding gunmen around 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 14.

Bosque owned the vehicle but Parohinog was driving it.

Parohinog, who is still in the custody of the Estancia police station, is considered at this time as both a witness and a person of interest./PN
