ILOILO City – Hua Siong College of Iloilo Red Phoenix had a dominant start in the Chooks-to-Go SM-National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) Tournament-Iloilo leg after a 107-69 thrashing of Assumption School Passi City on Saturday at Western Institute of Technology’s STS Gym.
The1-0 Phoenix was led by David
Bagatnan with 17 points, while his teammate Jasper Antijendra added 15
markers. Norel Panizales bannered the
1-1 Assumption School with 14 points.
Meanwhile, CenterPhil Montessori Silver Knights also had a winning start as they
defeated San Antonio National High School with a 108-37 blowout.
Lester Paraico gunned 25 points with fellow Ronald Silorio who contributed 16
markers for the Silver Knights, while Reniel Obar was San Antonio’s lone
double- digit scorer with 11 points.
Also, St. Robert’s International Academy Panda Rockets hardly broke sweat after manhandling the Filipino American School Town (FAST), 135-27.
Oscar Roy Jacinto tallied 23 points, while Rolen Pantin contributed 20 markers for the Panda Rockets. Louis Suelo and Ferjan Failanza combined for 12 markers for FAST.
In another game, Sun Yat Sen High School tallied a 76-62 victory over Central Philippine University (CPU) Golden Lions. Arvin Tabares contributed 27 markers for the victors./PN
