MANILA – San Beda University Red Lions continued its rampage in the NCAA Season 95 Seniors Basketball. It crushed College of Saint Benilde Blazers, 88-57, at the San Juan Arena.
The defending champions Red Lions registered its eighth consecutive win in as many games.
Calvin Oftana reset his career-high anew with 27 points, nine rebounds and two steals.
Amiel Cris Soberano converted four triples and finished with 14 markers while James Canlas and Evan Nelle tallied 11 points, seven rebounds, and four assists; and eight points, six assists, three steals, and three rebounds, respectively.
With the Dumaguete City native Oftana taking charge, the Red Lions cruised to a double-digit lead early and never looked back.
The lead would later g up by as much as 31 points.
For the Blazers which suffered its second consecutive defeat this season, Justin Gutang tallied 10 points, seven assists, and five rebounds while Jimboy Pasturan had 10 markers.
Meanwhile, Allyn Bulanadi dropped 31 points as the San Sebastian College-Recoletos Golden Stags cruised to a 107-90 victory over the University of Perpetual Help Dalta Altas.
Elsewhere, Justin Arana tallied a career-high 24 points, including crucial endgame hits, as the Arellano University Chiefs pulled off an 87-81 upset over the Lyceum of the Philippines Pirates./PN
