ILOILO – Today’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Job and Migrant Fair offers nearly 8,000 job vacancies.
The provincial government, through PESO-Iloilo, encouraged jobseekers to check out the 21 local and 10 overseas companies at Casa Real de Iloilo in Iloilo City from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cynthia Parcon-Dario, Supervising Labor and Employment Officer of PESO-Iloilo, said there are 1,505 job vacancies for local employment and 5,318 job orders for overseas employment.
Most local offerings are easy-to-fill or in-demand jobs like store crew, customer service representative, cashier, service crew, handler, warehouse associate, promodiser, management trainee, and packer.
Overseas land-based employment offerings included waiters bound to Saudi Arabia and China; room and pool attendants bound to Macau; nurses bound to the UAE, USA and United Kingdom; agricultural workers and building exterior cleaners bound to Saudi Arabia; midwives bound to the United Kingdom; and butchers bound to Croatia.
Meanwhile, sea-based employments are master, chief officer, chief engineer, second engineer, third engineer, fitter, electrician, bosun, seaman, engine trainee, galley operator, hotel technician, and security patrolman.
Dario noted seven local companies will cater to part-time students, high school, senior high school and college undergraduates with offerings for operators, sales clerks, customer service representatives, manufacturing, production crew, and store crew.
PESO-Iloilo, headed by Francisco Heler Jr., will install a help desk to cater to clarifications, queries and concerns as well as booths of partner government agencies such as Pag-ibig, Social Security System, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Department of Foreign Affairs, National Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Internal Revenue, and Department of Trade and Industry.
Dario added they also invited PhilHealth, Philippine Statistics Authority,Department of Labor and Employment, and Professional Regulation Commission.
The local governments of Passi City, Janiuay, Zarraga, Cabatuan, Guimbal, Tigbauan, and Balasan will offer “Libre-Sakay” for their constituents who wish to participate in the job fair. A promotional trade fair in front of Casa Real de Iloilo will be held simultaneously. It will cater to the small businesses of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Barotac Nuevo, Badiangan, Oton, San Joaquin, San Miguel, and Pavia.
Aside from these, PESO-Iloilo will also hold an anti-illegal recruitment activity.

Applicants are encouraged to be at the venue early and bring multiple copies of their resumés and a copy of their passport for overseas employment applicants.
