BACOLOD City – The province of Negros Occidental and this capital city received an additional P60 million from President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. during yesterday’s ceremonial distribution of cash assistance under the Presidential Assistance for Farmers, Fisherfolk, and Families (PAFFF) at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos football field in this city.

Of the amount, P50 million was personally received by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and P10 million was given to Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez for Bacolod.

Lacson and Benitez said the additional cash aid would be allotted for other residents under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program.

Meanwhile, data from the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) showed that a total of 8,315 PAFFF beneficiaries from Negros Occidental and Bacolod City received P10,000 each yesterday.

The PAFFF is an unconditional cash assistance to augment farmers and fisherfolk to recover from the economic losses due to El Niño.

Additionally, President Marcos himself led the turnover of farm machineries and equipment to the beneficiaries from selected local government units and farmers associations in the province./PN
