MANILA – Negrense amateur boxer Flint Jara said it was not him who issued a bounty in exchange for the death of President Rodrigo Duterte after his alleged social media post went viral.
The Bago City, Negros Occidental-native made the denial through his official Facebook account. It turned out that someone made a poser account to tarnish his name.
“Please, guys. Huwag niyo naman ako siraan. Wala po akong ginawa sa inyo, and iisa lang po ang account ko sa Facebook,” the national amateur boxing team member wrote on March 13.
He added: “Ang laki ng respeto ko sa Presidente. Kung sino man po ang gumawa nun, i-delete niyo na lang po. If may galit kayo sa akin, pwede niyo naman akong prangkahin.”
Jara’s alleged post on a Facebook group wrote, “MAGBIBIGAY AKO NG P200 MILLION KUNG SINO MAN MAKAKAPATAY SA B***NG PRESIDENTE NA SI DUTERTE!”
Several suspects offering certain amounts for those who can kill the President were arrested recently by the authorities in light of the ABS-CBN Network’s shutdown.
Meanwhile, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has warned against persons who make poser accounts of their enemies and posting threats against President Duterte.
“Kung kayo ay may mga kaaway, nakikiusap kami na huwag niyo namang gawin ito bilang higanti,” NBI Cybercrime Division chief Vic Lorenzo said in a television interview./PN
