BACOLOD City – The Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (PACE) hailed the Negros Occidental provincial government’s announcement that it will implement a salary hike for its 3,237 employees next month.

It will greatly help the capitol employees, said PACE president Renelo Lastierre.

This is the last tranche of the salary increase for employees of the provincial government.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson asked the Sangguniang Panlalawigan led by Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer to implement the fourth tranche of the modified salary schedule effective July 1.

This is in pursuant to Section 5.0 of the Local Budget Circular No. 149 of the Department of Budget and Management.

The provincial government allotted P30.1 million for the pay hikes that will cover the months of July to December this year.

An additional P28,176,892 for the pay increases of the 3,182 provincial government employees and P1,952,019 for 55 Economic Enterprise Development Department workers will be allocated.

Savings from the vacant positions of each office will cover the salary adjustment of their respective personnel.

Diaz added the salary increase of the employees will be included in the 2024 budget./PN
