BACOLOD City – The additional bonus of Negros Occidental provincial government employees will be released before the end of December.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson asked the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) to pass a supplemental budget increasing the service recognition incentive (SRI) of capitol employees from P10,000 to P20,000.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. issued an administrative orders granting SRI for employees in the executive department as well as a one-time rice allowance to all government employees.

The President’s order authorizes the grant of a one-time SRI at a uniform rate not exceeding P20,000 for executive department personnel.

Provincial administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, earlier said the provincial government has enough personnel services savings to fund the SRI.

In a statement, Renelo Lastierre, president of the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (PACE), welcome the pronouncement.

“We fully know that as a commitment from PGNO (Provincial Government of Negros Occidental) thru Atty. Rayfrando P. Diaz II, Gov. Bong Lacson will give what is allowable under the law. I believe that as announced by the governor during his birthday, PBB or performance-based bonus will also be released in January 2023,” he said./PN
