The number of active COVID-19 cases in Negros Occidental is starting to decline, Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson affirmed yesterday.

The province saw a slight reduction of cases over the last few days compared to the previous two weeks which experienced cases in the triple digits. Lacson said on Sunday that the province had 122 new recoveries with only 22 new COVID-19 cases.

“That is a net recovery of 100,” he said. Lacson hopes this trend will continue in the coming days, urging the Negrenses to be vigilant and strictly follow health protocols. The current four-day work week at the Provincial Capitol will continue until COVID-19 numbers drop to levels similar to those recorded two and a half months ago.
