NegOcc ends distribution of aid to ‘Odette’ victims

BACOLOD City – Six months after super typhoon “Odette” devastated southern Negros Occidental, the provincial government finally wrapped up its distribution of financial assistance in the town of Cauayan from the National Housing Authority (NHA) and the National Treasury.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson led the distribution of housing aid worth P19 million to 3,974 beneficiaries.

The other victims of the typhoon, particularly those with partially damaged homes, received aid much earlier from their respective local government units.

Among assistance extended by the provincial government were roofing materials.

On Dec. 16, 2021 super typhoon “Odette” made landfall in southern Negros Occidental, killing a total of 49 people and leaving P2.3-billion damage to infrastructure and agriculture./PN
