NegOcc gov’t not renewing contracts of 30 employees

BACOLOD City – The provincial government of Negros Occidental decided not to renew the contracts of 30 contract of service (COS) employees effective Jan. 2.

Based on a document obtained by members of the media, two of the COS were Security Officer 1, while 28 were assigned as Watchmen 1.

The notice of non-renewal was signed by Provincial Human Resource Management Office officer-in-charge Felomina Gozon on Jan. 3. It was under the orders of Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz addressed to the capitol’s head of the Safety and Security Division, Renelo Lastierre.

It can be recalled that Diaz said that he received last month a list of employees who have been recommended to have their work contracts not renewed this year.

Meanwhile, job orders and COS employees who have performed well will be recommended to be upgraded for COS employment and casual status, respectively, Diaz added.

He also stated that they are looking for individuals who are more than willing to contribute to reaching the provincial government’s goals and objectives. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
