NegOcc JOs to receive gratuity pay

BACOLOD City – Not only regular and casual employees of the provincial government of Negros Occidental will have a “Merry Christmas,” but also job orders and those under contract of service. They will receive a gratuity pay worth P3,000, according to Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz.

Diaz said there are legal prohibitions that disqualify them from receiving additional benefits.
“If we are allowed by law, why not,” he pointed out.

He said the law only “allows us to give gratuity pay which we are ready to release and it has ready funds.”

Meanwhile, Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer said the Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved a P83.2-million supplemental budget, P78 million of which will go to the additional bonuses of provincial government employees.

On Monday night, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson announced that 3,400 capitol employees will receive an additional bonus of P65,000 each.
This is composed of P25,000 as collective negotiation agreement (CNA),  P25,000 incentive benefit for exemplary service (IBES), P5,000 for performance based incentive (PBI) and P10,000 as service recognition incentive.

“The CNA, IBES and PBI will all be released next week,” Diaz said. “We are waiting for an authority from the Department of Budget and Management to release the remaining SRI.”/PN
