NegOcc kicks off National Blood Donors Month

BACOLOD City – The provincial government of Negros Occidental kicked off the celebration of National Blood Donors Month aimed to raise awareness about the crucial roles that voluntary donations play.

Gov. Eugenio Jose “Bong” Lacson led the Tuesday’s event themed “Safe blood for all.”

“A well-organized blood service is necessary to meet blood necessities especially in times of crisis,” said Lacson.

The activity was held at the Negros Occ. Multi-Purpose Activity Center in this city on July 16.

Lacson urged local government units, health officers, blood donor recruitment officers and coordinators,

chiefs of hospitals, among others, to continue to deepen the campaign for blood donation.

He added the initiative will prevent a significant draw down of blood supply as patients of the mosquito-borne disease continue to rise.

“The success or failure of our endeavor to save lives is dependent on our commitment and consistency in advancing our cause,” he said./PN
