BACOLOD City – Negrense Dialysis Group (NDG) urges Philippine Health (Philhealth) officials to increase financial assistance to kidney patients undergoing hemodialysis.
NDG president Gregorio Gustilo Jr. sent a letter to President Rodrigo Duterte urging the 90 hemodialysis sessions per year to be increased to 104 sessions.
He said they initiated the move to seek help in behalf of all patients undergoing dialysis in the city.
“The increased number of sessions will alleviate the financial burdens of their families,” Gustilo said.
Gustilo said the patience pays P4,000 when they fully consumed the Philhealth assistance and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) assistance of P20,000 per quarter.
The group appealed to the president citing their way of living are greatly affected especially education of their children, said Gustilo.
He also said they cannot depend solely on PCSO’s assistance./PN
