BACOLOD City – The local government units (LGUs) participating in the “MassKara sa Panaad” event this coming October have begun cleaning up and preparing their respective pavilions inside the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan here. Negros Occidental’s provincial administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, said yesterday morning that the provincial government is now processing the P100,000 cash assistance promised by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson for each participating LGU.
When asked as to how many of the 31 LGUs will be actually participating in the event, Diaz replied that he doesn’t have the exact number.
Bacolod City’s Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez, meanwhile, revealed yesterday morning that “almost all” of the 31 LGUs have expressed their intention to participate in the “MassKara sa Panaad.”
He said the event would be the first time that both the city government of Bacolod and provincial government of Negros Occidental will participate in the MassKara Festival.
“It really shows that Bacolod and the province of Negros Occidental have already collaborated and are working together for the good of everyone,” he said.
The mayor added that the “MassKara sa Panaad” event is a welcome sign and shows the harmonious relationship between the city and the province./PN
