BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) will adopt one day off only for its personnel this December.

NOCPPO director Colonel Leo Pamittan said it is part of their deployment plans for the holiday season. Police personnel usually have two days off duty every week.

Pamittan explained it is to maximize deployment and to ensure peace and order with the expected influx of people, especially at convergence points.

He pointed out that they observed a significant increase in the number of robbery and theft incidents during the holidays.

Police commanders in the province have also been ordered to set up their police assistance desks in crowded areas, particularly in transport terminals, shopping malls, and churches, to deter criminal activity. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
